Spirit and Place Festival: GAMESpot

The annual Spirit and Place Festival is kicking off November 2nd, and during the festival there are many family-friendly activities to enjoy. This year’s theme is PLAY, and are there are forty events in ten days to celebrate.

The easiest, most accesible activity of the Festival is GAMESpot– these activities are scattered around the city and can be found on many main thoroughfares. Games are posted on giant side walk posters, easily identified with Spirit & Place colors. These games were designed by the Know No Stranger team, and are fun for all ages. Watch traffic, act like gargoyles, or have a dance contest. Check out this Google map for the location of all of the games.

Reading one of the GAMESpot signs on the corner of Broad Ripple Ave & College Ave.

There are many other family activities scheduled for the festival, check out Moonlight Nigerian Square, Games through the Ages, and Horse Play!

Awesome Advice: Take a look at the schedule now, discuss with your family and make a plan to attend some these great events!

Montessori Moment: When my daughter and I went searching for games in Broad Ripple, she made it into a mapping activity. As we found the games, she noted where they were on her hand drawn map. It’s a great keepsake of our day together.

Admission: Most events are free, see schedule for details
Hours: Events take place from November 2 through November 11, 2013
